| One year ago
today, I was happy as a lark.
I got some great stuff for Christmas, to play with in the front yard or maybe at the park. With my new telescope, I could see all the way down the street and watch the children play, huh You know tomorrow a late package from Grandma might arrive, Then another happy day. Although this year dark clouds all gather around me, huh The parents seem to all know my name. A few things turned up missing, Some bad practical jokes, And a few kids felt a bit of unnessicairy pain. Now I know I can hide from a policeman, but from Santa’s sight I shouldn’t have tried. I keep sayin’ I didn’t do, but of course he knows I lied. Oh, No presents
for me, no matter where I look. Under the tree no lousy socks or even a
book
Why oh why, Did
I not believe when, Santa said.
Doo doo doo, Doo
doo doo, Doo doo doo doo doo.
Oh, I take back
the punch I left on Bobby’s lip
Why oh why, did
I not believe when, Santa said.
Doo doo
doo, Doo doo doo, Doo doo doo doo doo.
Another day comes
to an end, I’m lookin’ But still I ain’t got nothing
Have you seen him, Tell me have you seen him. |
